The best way to protect yourself is to have a high level of awareness so you don't end up in a confrontation. Failing that, if you do end up in a potential confrontation you have to strike first. Waiting to block an assailant's first move could prove your undoing, no matter what level of experience you have. The system and theory I teach involves preparing people to avoid confrontation, but, at the same time being able to strike first should they have to.

I am also very aware that some of you reading this have been victims of violence and, are seeking some way to ensure that you are more prepared in the future. People who have been assaulted usually tell me they want something with no frills that will work instantly. Well, you have come to right place.

The people who mug or, just beat people up have the whole process down to a fine art. In fact, it is almost almost a way of life for them and they become very accomplished through practice. This means that your average citizen will be at a disadvantage. However, once you gain a working knowledge of the process they go through in selecting you, stalking you and then approaching you, it all becomes clear that you can do something to increase your safety and fighting effectiveness.

In order to prepare people to deal with potential conflict, we run a self protection programme which covers subjects such as;

How to be more aware
How victims are selected
How victims are stalked without their knowledge
How to spot potential assailants
How not to look like a victim
How to control your space
How to set yourself up for a pre-emptive strike
How to strike pre-emptively (without breaking your knuckles)
How to deal with being jumped
How to deal with blows being rained down on you
How to deal with the law during the aftermath of an incident

How to react once you have fallen or being pushed to the ground

Apart from this you will also gain a working knowledge of some of the more common holds, locks and strangles. Although the idea is not to let people get hold of you in the first place, it does happen.

Weapon Attacks

Disarming people with one swift move is for the movies. You will learn what to do in the event of an actual attack and you are faced with no other option.

You will also gain an awareness of the strategies for dealing with weapon attacks. However, (and here's some free advice) I must state that if you are held up by knife point you should hand over your money!
